Free Movie Tonight in Riverside Park
Come to Pier I at 70th Street in Riverside Park tonight for another edition of the Movies Under the Stars series. The free movies run on Wednesdays throughout the summer, and this year, they all follow the “New York/Nieuw York” theme, where the NYC-centered movies “span the centuries, in honor of the Hudson River Quadricentennial.”
Tonight, catch The Out-Of-Towners (1970) starring Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis. This classic film, written by Neil Simon, follows a Midwestern couple as they visit New York City after the businessman husband (Lemmon) becomes a candidate for a prestigious promotion and transfer to the city. Once in the city, what can go wrong, does go wrong. It’s a fun movie to catch in the park on a summer evening, as long as the weather will hold out (plus, it’s free… what more could you ask for?).
