Free Screening Of “25th Hour” Tomorrow At UWS FilmLinc; Spike Lee, Edward Norton & Philip Seymour Hoffman Appearing In-Person

Great event taking place tomorrow night at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. They’re offering a free screening of 25th Hour — the first major film shot on location in New York after 9/11 — and director Spike Lee and actors Edward Norton and Philip Seymour Hoffman will be in attendance.
The film starts at 7:45 pm at the Walter Reade Theater @ FilmLinc (West 65th, between Amsterdam & Broadway). Tickets are free and will be distributed at the box office on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 6:45 pm. I suspect people will be lined up early for this.
You can view all the details at FilmLinc.com — per the site:
The first major movie shot on location in New York after September 11, 2001, Spike Lee’s 25th Hour transforms the story of one man’s loss of freedom into a panoramic portrait of a city and its people rising out of the ashes. In a brilliant performance, Edward Norton stars as Monty Brogan, a convicted drug dealer paying his last respects to family and friends (including childhood pals Barry Pepper and Philip Seymour Hoffman) in the 24 hours before he begins a seven-year prison sentence. As Lee follows Monty across Manhattan, he captures lyrical details of post-9/11 New York life at every turn, from makeshift memorials to the illuminated ruins of ground zero itself and, above all, the ordinary New Yorkers bravely soldiering forth in the face of personal and national tragedy.
Largely overlooked upon its release, 25th Hour has belatedly been hailed as one of the greatest American films of the past decade.
“One of the 10 best films of the decade.”

I saw 25th Hour shortly after it came out — great film.
