On the heels of last week’s horrific daytime rape in Central Park, a free self-defense class will be offered in Central Park next month.

The event is co-sponsored by City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and council members Gale Brewer, Jessica Lappin, and Melissa Mark Viverito.

The class is open to anyone above the age of 13, including seniors, and will be conducted by instructors from the Center For Anti-Violence Education.
