Free “Spider-Man” Advance Screening Tix Available At UWS Time Warner Cable Store Starting Today

Wednesday, June 27th, 2012

If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, you’re probably chomping at the bit for next week’s release of the franchise’s reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man (partially filmed on the UWS — here & here).

Good news if you’re a Time Warner Cable customer: Starting this morning (Wednesday), their UWS retail store is giving away free tickets to a special 3-D advance-screening of the movie next Monday (7/2).

Sorry for the slightly short notice on this, but I just saw a press release that came in yesterday.

Starting at 8:00 am today, the store at 2554 Broadway (corner of 96th) is giving away tickets to NYC-area customers for a July 2nd screening at the the Regal E-Walk movie theater in Times Square. Attendees of the screening will be treated to complimentary snacks and receive a gift bag.

In addition to the movie tickets, TWC customers who visit the store can also receive The Amazing Spider-Man branded ear buds (while supplies last).

TWC did a similar giveaway last September for the season 6 premier of Dexter. In that instance there were only about 40 tickets available. I think there are more this time around, but we’re talking about one screening, so it’s definitely a limited quantity. In addition to the Upper West Side store, three other TWC locations are participating in this promotion (West 23rd Street, Queens, and Staten Island).

I’m trying to get an update on the exact quantity available, but if you’re passing by the store this morning you might want to stop in. Each account is eligible for two tickets (while supplies last). It’s literally across the street from the 96th Street 1/2/3 station, so it may be on your way to work.

You’ll need a photo ID and your account has to be in good standing. It’s first-come, first-served.
