Free Tickets Available For UWS Advance Screening Of “The Nut Job” (in 3-D) On Saturday 1/11

Monday, January 6th, 2014

UPDATE 4:50 pm: Well that was fast — apparently all the passes have been claimed. Apologies if you weren’t able to snag some in time. I’ll post an update if I get any more.

If you’ve got kids and are looking for something to do on Saturday morning (January 11th), I just received a link for free passes to an advance screening of The Nut Job (3-D) on the Upper West Side.

The animated flick is rated PG and features the voices of Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Gabrial Iglesias, Liam Neeson, and Katherine Heigl.

If you’re interested, here’s the link to register for tickets.

There’s a limit of four tickets per person and seating is first-come, first-served.

The screening takes place at the AMC Lincoln Square theaters (1998 Broadway, between 67th & 68th).

The movie starts at 10:00 am, although if you manage to score tickets I’d advise getting there early in order to make sure you get a seat. I believe that for free screenings like this they often give away more tickets than seats, so arriving early is essential.

The tickets are provided by gofobo — you can read a bit more about them here.

A brief synopsis of the film, which opens in wide release on January 17th:

The Nut Job is an action-packed comedy that follows Surly (voiced by Will Arnett), a mischievous squirrel, who must plan a heist to get into his town’s biggest nut shop in order to help his pals in the park gather food to survive the winter. Together with his sidekick, Buddy, he will assemble a ragtag crew to help him get inside – and take them on a fun-filled adventure that they’ll never forget.

Here’s the trailer:
