It seems the former location of Balducci’s at 66th between Broadway and Amsterdam will take on another fine foods grocery store.  According to a sign in the window, the location will soon house the sixth location of Gourmet Garage (there is another at Broadway and 96th, if the name rings a bell but not the place).   It’s good news for the area, with more and more commercial spaces becoming vacant and unfilled due to the poor economy and high rents.  Hopefully the off-the-beaten-path location doesn’t get in the way of business, and people will regularly shop there… we will sure give it a couple of tries, and report back!
