“Hidden” Craft Show On The UWS This Weekend

Some parts of New York City have hidden bars and clubs.
Here on the Upper West Side, we’ve got hidden craft shows.
Interesting story on DNAinfo about a “hidden” craft show on the second floor of organizer (and artist) Susan Beecher’s Upper West Side apartment building. Per DNA:
The show is now in its 20th year, and though there’s no website and it’s never been advertised beyond the artists’ personal mailing lists, the annual craft sale attracts a few hundred customers.
Aside from Beecher, this year’s show features New Jersey artist Susan Bogen, who works in porcelain and stoneware; jeweler Marsha Davis, ceramicist Carol Grocki Lewis, and candlemaker Jean Bromage, an Upper West Sider who also sells her work at the Greenflea Market on Columbus Avenue and West 77th Street.
If you’re looking to pick up some holiday presents, or even just treat yourself to something, this seems like a great alternative to the typical neighborhood shopping venues.
The show runs today and tomorrow (12/10 & 12/11) from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. It’s located in the community room (2nd floor) of Columbus Park Tower (100 W. 94th, between Amsterdam & Columbus).
