High Fashion is Coming to the Upper West Side’s Aldyn

Saturday, September 4th, 2010

aldynFashion Week at Lincoln Center won’t be the only fashion-related Upper West Side event.  Renowned fashion designers translate their fashion sensibility into local interior design, and all will be welcome to experience it firsthand.  The connection between fashion and interior design will be on show at The Aldyn (Riverside Boulevard at 63rd), a residential building that will soon be completed and available for sale.  Extell, the developer behind the new property, teamed with eight members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) for a special event.  A designer show house called “American Fashion: Designers at The Aldyn” will take place featuring interior designs by Diane von Furstenberg, Elie Tahari, Nicole Miller, Jeffrey Banks and Richard Lambertson and John Truex for Tiffany & Co.  The fashion designers, who collaborated with interior designers to translate their newest collections for the home, often mixed in their own personal items.  The rooms will be unveiled at a private September 16th party and open to the public from September 21st to December 10th with a $25 admission to benefit the CFDA Foundation.  Check back to the CFDA’s event page to purchase tickets.
