UPDATE, 9:47 pm: They just ran out of shrimp — lobster and crab still going strong.
The impending arrival of Hurricane Irene seems to have had at least one unintended positive effect for Upper West Siders: $10 lobster rolls at Luke’s Lobster all night!
I just got an e-mail from Luke’s VP Ben Conniff:
With Hurricane Irene raging through the city and public transportation shutting down tomorrow, it’s time to stock up on lobster rolls. We just got a new shipment of fresh seafood, but due to apocalyptic conditions we have to close on Saturday and Sunday. So, starting at 4 pm today, we’ll be selling lobster rolls for $10 all night. No lobster should go uneaten!
Drop your sandbags and head for Luke’s for a once-in-a-lifetime lobsterfest to sate your appetite before you shut yourself in.
Luke’s is located at 426 Amsterdam, between 80th & 81st. Their phone number is 212-877-8800 if you want to check on their inventory before you head over.
The deal is also good at their other NYC locations in the East Village, Upper East Side, and Financial District.
According to Twitter, in addition to the $10 lobster rolls (normally $16), they’re selling crab rolls for $8 (normally $10) and shrimp rolls for $6 (normally $8). However, they are NOT doing “Noah’s Arks” or “Taste Of Maine” specials.
The deal is good until they run out of food, so head over ASAP.
