Late September Opening Anticipated for UWS Trader Joe’s
While details of the upcoming opening of an Upper West Side Trader Joe’s (Broadway at 72nd) have remained highly secretive, our friends at West Side Independent have been digging for info to get some clues into the store’s opening. After a chat with City Councilwoman Gale Brewer, the initial rumored opening date was August of this year. Now, a discussion with Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal revealed to West Side Indy that Trader Joe’s anticipates a late September or early October opening. In addition, the sidewalk shed around the building is scheduled to come down by the middle of this month. Of course, nothing has been announced by the Trader Joe’s reps, and they continue to keep mum about the new store, so all opening dates are still just rumors until an official confirmation comes out. We can still get excited about the big opening, though!
