After almost two years and nearly 3,000 posts, we, Lauren & Torrey, are passing on the My Upper West torch!

We started My Upper West on a single idea, realizing that there should be a centralized place for Upper West Side happenings and news after walking our dog Frank around the neighborhood and seeing how many great things there are to do.  Since its inception in 2009, we have learned so much about this great ‘hood as we gathered and published information.  You, our readers, kept us going with fantastic suggestions, encouragement, and tips.  We hope that you have enjoyed discovering more about the Upper West Side as much as we have enjoyed bringing it to you.

The bad news is, all good things must come to an end, and our full-time jobs, kick-ass dog, Central Park races, and need for more fun in the city means we are ending our My Upper West blogging careers.  But don’t worry… there’s good news!  We couldn’t be happier to announce that Upper West Sider Mike has bought My Upper West and plans to continue the site.  Starting tomorrow, Mike will be your new My Upper West blogger, continuing to bring you all of the entertainment and information you will need about our beloved neighborhood.  We honestly can’t think of a better way to say goodbye to our site than to hand it over to another Upper West Sider who will gladly share his knowledge and love of the neighborhood.  From here on out, feel free to keep sending tips to Mike, who will manage “alerts [at] myupperwest.com,” while correspondence with Lauren or Torrey can be sent to “myupperwest [at] gmail.com.”

Good luck to Mike, and a fond farewell… we’ll be seeing you around on the Upper West Side!
