Law & Order Stars Coming to Symphony Space to Fight Illiteracy
Join the stars of Law & Order on Monday as they work to support adult literacy at Symphony Space (Broadway at 95th). The All Write! literacy program, offered through Symphony Space, has given adult students throughout the five boroughs literacy lessons for nearly two decades, teaching students to read while discovering and reflecting on the world around us. All Write! will be celebrated at a benefit event next Monday featuring celebrities Sonia Manzano, S. Epatha Merkerson, Isaiah Sheffer, Sam Waterston and B.D. Wong, along with musical guests Ivy Austin, Jay Leonhardt and Lanny Meyers. The stars will read the literacy students’ stories and poems about arriving in and surviving in New York City, with a couple of Stephen Sondheim songs on the subject providing some musical spice. A limited number of Patron tickets are available ($250 each), which include a private reception with the artists after the program. Proceeds from the event will benefit the All Write! program, so purchase your tickets today for a fun event to help a worthy cause.
