Lincoln Center Announces New Discussion Series
NYT Arts Beat reports on an interesting discussion series coming to Lincoln Center this fall (yes, we’re already talking about fall).
Business, not cultural affairs, will be on the breakfast menu at Lincoln Center this fall as the Center begins a morning series where leaders will “discuss significant issues facing American society,” according to Reynold Levy, the center’s president.
Tom Brokaw will serve as the moderator for the discussion, which will all focus on business and the economy and take place at the David Rubenstein Atrium (Broadway, between 62nd/63rd).
In bringing early morning activity to the campus, the program represents an ongoing effort to remake Lincoln Center as a 24/7 hub of activity and the 200-seat atrium offers an intimate setting, Mr. Levy said. “You’ll have a good shot at asking a question,” he added, “and getting an answer.”
Series participants include business luminaries such as:
- David Rubenstein – The Atrium’s namesake and the managing director and co-founder of the Carlyle Group
- Stephen Schwarzman – Chairman/co-founder of the Blackstone Group
- Blair Effron – Founder of Centerview partners and a Lincoln Center trustee
- Greg Fleming - President of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney & Morgan Stanley Investment Management
- Peter R. Orszag - Vice chairman of global banking at Citigroup
- Ruth Porat - Executive vice chairwoman and chief financial officer at Morgan Stanley
