Lincoln Center’s campus has been getting closer to completing their $1.2 billion transformation that began in 2006 and is scheduled to be completed in late 2011/early 2012.  Today, Lincoln Center will open the Illumination Lawn (near 65th between Broadway and Amsterdam), along with other public spaces on the campus.  To celebrate of these new public spaces, Lincoln Center is holding a party for the community today from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.  Explore the Illumination Lawn, the renovated Columbus Avenue Stairs and the new Benenson Grove at 62nd Street.  Also, enjoy ticket and picnic giveaways every 20 minutes, including events from Lincoln Center Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival, Midsummer Night Swing, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Lincoln Center Theater, New York Philharmonic, Film Society at Lincoln Center, and New York City Ballet.  Finally, as a perfect bonus for today’s gorgeous weather, get free gelato and lemonade courtesy of Arpeggio Outdoors by Restaurant Associates.
