Maroon 5 Comes to the Beacon on Tuesday

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

maroon5The Beacon Theatre (Broadway at 74th) has been off the list of gig spaces for artists for months now, as the Cirque du Soleil show, Banana Shpeel, had exclusively booked the venue for months.  The Beacon officially went dark in January for the production to get ready for opening, with an initial opening date set for the end of February, but delays plagued the production, and its previews did not begin until the end of April.  When the show finally opened, ticket sales were lackluster and reviews were disappointing, causing the production to close up shop two months early, on June 27th.

Now that Banana Shpeel has slipped away from New York City, the Beacon is starting to welcome artists again.  This Tuesday, the Beacon presents a big show.  Come to the venue to see Maroon 5 kick off their summer tour.  The popular band will perform their hits, including tracks from their latest album Hands All Over, all presented by Fuse.  Unfortunately, there will be no public sale of tickets for the event, and seats will instead be available for a charity to be selected by Maroon 5 and families who are affiliated with The Garden of Dreams Foundation, a charity that works closely with Madison Square Garden to benefit kids in crisis in the tri-state area.  While you can try searching for tickets online, there is one easy way to catch the show… it will air live on Fuse with limited commercial interruption.
