If you’re looking for an apartment on the Upper West Side, you might want to skip the listings at 175 West 90th…

In July, a man was shot five times in the elevator during a suspected drug deal. On Friday, three teenagers were shot in front of the same building.

DNAinfo has the story on the most recent shooting, which took place late Friday night. Three victims described as males between 17 and 18-yeard-old were taken to St. Lukes with non-life-threatening injuries. Per DNA:

“I live on the 15th floor and we could smell the gunpowder,” said Rita Callahan, who has been living in the building for three years.

“I heard a sound. It was unusual and my first thought was, ‘Was that a gunshot?’  I don’t think of myself as living in the middle of gang world. I’m very concerned that this happened on my corner.”

Another resident told DNAinfo this:

“To me [the neighborhood is] safe. I walk to work every morning at 5:30,” said Fatima Mate, 34, who has been living in the building for 15 years. “This is really crazy. I’m going to tell my husband to start looking for other places.”

No details on what may have precipitated the shooting.

Bullets seem to be flying on the Upper West Side with alarming regularity these days. Friday night’s gunfire happened almost exactly three weeks after the bizarre shooting incident involving an off-duty police officer at Riverside & 91st.
