Mother who Attempted Hudson River Murder-Suicide Freed; Returns to Husband

080210silvia3shThe 33-year-old mother who tossed her baby into the Hudson River then jumped in herself in an apparent murder-suicide attempt has been released from a psych ward, according to the New York Post.  Devi Silvia is now free on $10,000 bail after the May 11th incident in which she left her Trump Place apartment at Riverside and 67th, threw her 19-month-old daughter Jessica off of Pier I in Riverside Park and 70th, and jumped into the fast-moving water.  She and her baby were rescued, leading to her commitment to a psychiatric facility.  Now, she is returning to the Upper West Side with her husband, the alleged cause of her apparent breakdown due to moving the family from their native India and working long hours at Oracle.  She won’t be seeing her infant daughter Jessica or Jessica’s six-year-old sister, however… the children are currently living with in India with their father’s sister.  Read the full story at the New York Post.
