The MTA has been completely devastated by Sandy and subway service isn’t expected to resume for days.
The good news is that limited bus service is supposed to start today (Tuesday, 10/30) around 5:00 pm. Buses will be operating on a Sunday schedule and all rides will be free.
Normal bus service is expected to resume on Wednesday (10/31) and rides will continue to be free.
Additional details and updates are available at MTA.info.
UPDATE 11:48 pm: Got a question from someone about where to find a bus map, as the MTA’s website defaults to an “alert” page. If you click on the “Read More” link at MTA.info, it will take you to this page with full maps for the five boroughs.
