The previous post covered the 30+ restaurants that will be offering food tastings at tonight’s Winter’s Eve event.
In addition to the plethora of food options, the entertainment line-up is equally impressive:
- The evening kicks off at 5:30 pm with a tree lighting ceremony at Dante Park (Broadway & 63rd), featuring Arlo Guthrie, the Newark Boys Chorus, Mayor Ed Koch, WABC-TV’s Sade Baderinwa, and others.
. - There will be ice sculpting outside the Time Warner Center and on Columbus Avenue (btw. 64th & 65th) all evening.
. - The Winter’s Eve “Dance Tent” is located on West 62nd, between Broadway & Columbus. It will feature The Klezmatics performing two sets (6:15 – 7:05 & 7:15 – 8:10) for your dancing enjoyment.
. - Speaking of dance, a variety of world dances — including Bolivian Tinkus, Brazilian Samba, and Asian Indian Bhangra — will be performed by professional dance troupes throughout the evening in front of Alice Tully Hall (Broadway & 66th).
. - A performance of the Broadway show “Sister Act” will take place on the 2nd floor of the Time Warner Center starting at 6:00 pm.
Finally, a slew of live-music performances will take place throughout the evening in and around Lincoln Square:

- Outer Borough Brass Band @ Dante Park Main Stage (Broadway& 63rd): 6:00pm & 7:00pm
- Catherine Russell @ American Folk Art Museum (Columbus, btw. 65th & 66th): 6:30pm – 7:15pm & 7:30pm – 8:15pm (2 Sets)
- The Yaz Band @ Gracious Home (1992 Broadway at 67th Street): 6:00pm, 7:00pm, and 8:00pm
- 69th Street Band @ Ollie’s Atrium (1991 Broadway, btw. 67th & 68th): 6:00pm, 7:00pm & 8:15pm
- Lorenzo Laroc @ Century 21 (1972 Broadway at 66th Street): 6:15pm and 7:15pm
- Select Blendz @ Richard Tucker Park (Broadway & 66th): 6:30pm – 7:00pm, 7:30pm – 8:00pm, & 8:30pm – 9:00pm

- Christian McBride and Inside Straight @ Apple Store (1981 Broadway, at 67th: 7:00 pm
- Morgan James presented by Jazz at Lincoln Center @ Time Warner Center (2nd floor): 7:30pm
- The Hungry March Band, The Hot Sardines, Mariachi Real De Mexico, Raya Brass Band will be performing on the streets throughout the evening
