New UWS C. Wonder Hosts Grand Opening Festivities This Weekend; Free Gift Cards, Prizes, DJs & More

Friday, September 21st, 2012

Posted back in March about the C. Wonder flagship store slated for the Time Warner Center.

I’ve been a bit negligent with follow-up posts, but the store is having its official grand opening this weekend.

To celebrate, they’re hosting two days of festivities, including gift card giveaways, prizes, games, refreshments, a DJ, and more.

The store is actually open for business today, but the real action is on Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm.

From The Shops At Columbus Circle website:

The first 300 guests each day will receive a FREE gift card (up to a $250 value!). You can also spin the Wheel of Wonder to win special gifts, enjoy VIP perks every hour, join the dance party spun up by their house DJ, nosh on sweet treats and snacks and enjoy games and prizes galore!

It won’t be hard for you to fill up your shopping cart, but – as an added incentive – every purchase of $20 or more will earn you a limited-edition tote bag designed by our “Wonders of Columbus Circle” bag design winner.

To clarify that “up to a $250 value!” part, Racked reports the gift cards will be in denominations of $5, $25, and $250. I think they’re handed out randomly, and I think it’s a safe bet there will be more $5 and $25 cards than $250 ones (but hey, free is free!).

If you’re not familiar with the brand, C. Wonder sells clothing, accessories, and home decor products. Their website explains the store “is a shopping destination that transports women into a world of luxury and surprises.”

At 8,000 square feet, the UWS location is 60% bigger than their other NYC store in SoHo.

C. Wonder is opening in a portion of the space vacated by Borders Books last year (about one-third of it). I believe the rest of that former Borders space will house the coming H&M store first mentioned back in May.
