A Night at the Museum
Ever wonder what our own ‘hood’s museum is like after the doors are closed and the lights go down? Here’s an awesome event that gives kids a chance to explore the museum at night. “A Night at the Museum” is a series of sleepovers at the American Museum of Natural History (79th and Central Park West) where you can travel as a paleontologist on an expedition while watching Dinosaurs Alive! in the LeFrak IMAX Theater, explore the live-animal exhibitions with knowledgeable Museum explainers, and challenge yourself with one of our fun “Museum Quests.” As the doors close and the lights dim, you and your group will head out with flashlights in search of adventure. Once your journey through the museum’s halls comes to a magical close, settle down beneath the 94-foot-long blue whale, next to the Alaskan brown bear, or at the base of a volcanic formation. How cool is that? The first of the Night at the Museum sleepovers is this Saturday, so book soon to get a spot in this great adventure.
First sleepover: Saturday, January 23rd, 2010, 5:45 pm – 9:00 am, $99-$129 (7-13 years old only)
American Museum of Natural History, Central Park West at 79th
