One Night, Two Openings at 25CPW
Come to the Upper West Side’s newest art gallery, 25CPW (25 Central Park West, at 62nd), tomorrow evening for two openings in one night. First, “NY Perspectives” is a series of photographs of Amsterdam, discovered by New York photographers. Commemorating the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s discovery of Manhattan for the Dutch, the photographs were commissioned by the City of Amsterdam archives. The photos are on display through Monday, May 17th, and the artist reception takes place tomorrow night from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Also celebrating its show at 25CPW is “Empire State of Mind,” a part of the Copenhagen Photo Festival. Come to the gallery tomorrow evening for the opening night of a satellite exhibition of the festival, featuring a selection of Scandinavian photographers working in stills and video. The show will coincide with a sister exhibition in Copenhagen featuring New York-based photographers.
