Obama to Attend Bill Owens Fundraiser Tonight

President Obama is in New York City today, getting into campaign mode to help support the Democratic National Committee and Bill Owens, a Democratic candidate for an upstate New York congressional seat. The Bill Owens event will take place tonight at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel (Time Warner Center, Columbus Circle), with Obama slated to give remarks at 5:15 pm. If you want to be a part of it, get those checkbooks out… tickets to the fundraiser dinner are $15,200 per person or $30,400 per couple. With that price tag, it is not surprising that only about 200 people are expected to attend. If you are not going but plan to be in the area, expect extra security and traffic slowdowns for the president’s arrival and departure.

$30,400 seems a tad high for dinner, I hope that includes a wine paring.
