If you were wondering why street closings are taking place today, leading to traffic in the Lincoln Center area, look no more… President Obama is in town today to make a guest appearance on The View, taping today and airing tomorrow.  All five ladies, Barbara Walters (who is making a one-time appearance on the show during her hiatus until September for health reasons), Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elizabeth Hasselback, and Sherri Shepherd, will interview the president about a range of issues.  The appearance marks the first time a standing president has ever done daytime talk TV.  For Upper West Siders, the main result of today’s appearance is congestion in the vicinity of The View’s studio (66th near West End Avenue).
