The first 7-Eleven on the Upper West Side has opened, and the brightly lit store is ready to go, Slurpees and all. The photo to the left came to Racked via a tipster, with the insightful observation that a bottom-lit awning over a brick wall makes for a prime loitering area. Jay and Silent Bob, the Upper West Side welcomes you! The convenience store at 93rd and Amsterdam is one of 100 planned new 7-Eleven locations to open by 2014. In addition to the new openings, the chain plans to premiere its own brand of value wines for $3.99, giving Trader Joe’s a run for their money (wine tip courtesy of New York Observer via Curbed).
