It’s been a big week for Upper West Side openings and closings, so we put together a roundup of the most recent news.

• Trader Joe’s is for-reals.  The grocery store has officially confirmed its upcoming location at 72nd and Broadway as part of 200 West’s residential and retail development, although the rumored September opening date has not yet been confirmed.

• Speaking of 200 West, the leasing office is now open.  “The Corner” is up and running, greeting its first renters on April 1st.

• Moving in… Kosher eatery My Most Favorite Food is now open on 72nd between Broadway and West End Avenue.  Also open is Bomboloni, the Italian filled-doughnut shop on Columbus near 68th (finally, the will-it-open? saga ends!).

• … And moving out.  Two well-known Upper West Side restaurants are closing: Eighty One (81st between Columbus and Central Park West) will close its doors after Easter dinner service on Sunday, and now Eater reports that Bar Bao (82nd at Columbus) has officially closed.  Sad to see some of the nicer restaurants in the area leaving us.

• Finally, West Side Independent reports a few more openings and closings.  Roth’s Steakhouse (Columbus and 93rd) has closed and will soon be replaced by Scratch, a New American restaurant; Water Moon (Columbus between 82nd and 83rd) will be replaced by Canteen 82; the Gallery of International and Naïve Art (GINA, Columbus and 82nd) will close its doors permanently on March 31st; and surprisingly, the practically-indestructable Starbucks has closed its location on Broadway at 98th.
