Oprah to Air from Central Park on Friday

oprah Megastar and reigning daytime talk show queen Oprah will be in Central Park on Friday to close out her big season premiere week. The show will be taped at Rumsey Playfield (SummerStage, near Bethesda Terrace) at 10:00 am, with plans to air the episode at its usual time slot of 4:00 pm that day. Another major star, Mariah Carey, appears as a guest to sing a song from her upcoming album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Also scheduled for Friday’s show is an appearance by Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa, who will come to SummerStage just moments after wrapping up their live morning show (taped at ABC’s studios at 66th and Columbus), along with Oprah’s 63rd Book Club Selection announcement. Unfortunately, you must be a ticket holder to Oprah’s show in order to get in to the taping, but if you are a huge Oprah/Mariah fan, you can try to get tickets by filling out an application and telling your fan story here.
