Police are on the hunt for a man accused of trying to rape a 24-year-old woman during daylight hours in Riverside Park.

DNAinfo has the details:

The frightening attack unfolded at 6 p.m. on April 13 when the 24-year-old victim was jogging on a wooded path between West 122nd and West 125th Street.

According to cops the suspect approached the victim from behind and began to choke her.

He then allegedly tossed her to the ground and tried to rape her but was interrupted by witnesses, police said.

The victim was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The Post has a slightly more graphic version of the story, noting:

[The victim] turned around to see a man who had run past earlier, approaching with his private parts exposed…  The man then jumped on top of her, police said.

NY1 has a brief video package about the incident.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, 35- to 40-years-old, 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap and backpack, both of which had a Nike symbol on them.
