Another Price Reduction on Flamboyant UWS Apartment

loud-apt1loud-apt2Curbed has been following the progress of an Upper West Side apartment that has been on and off the market for the past two years.  You may wonder why the quadplex penthouse at 73rd and West End gets a little more attention than the average multi-million dollar home for sale, but you stop wondering when you see the photos of the interior.  The decor is, how do we put it nicely?  Flashy, loud, and of questionable taste.  Okay, that wasn’t putting it nicely, but it’s difficult to come up with other ways to describe the abundance of large prints and brightly colored plastered walls.  If you can look past the decor, the apartment is loaded with features from a private elevator to two terraces with breathtaking views.  Unfortunately, however, people seem to be having difficulty looking past the decor… the apartment, originally listed at $5.895 million, taken off the market for 15 months, and put back on at a reduced price of $5.595 million in September, has seen yet another price reduction, this time being cut from $4.795 million to $3.95 million.  If you can afford that price tag (plus a fabulous decorator), it could be your very own spectacular penthouse.  The listing is through Corcoran.
