Progress of Lincoln Center’s Harmony Atrium

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Lincoln Center’s Harmony Atrium (Broadway between 62nd and 63rd) is currently undergoing renovations, expected to be completed in November 2009.  Here is a quick description of the Harmony Atrium vision on Lincoln Center’s Fact Sheet.

[The atrium will be] a vibrant community gathering place for free performances and civic events. Serving as a gateway for information about Lincoln Center, the Visitor Space will provide discount ticket services for all of Lincoln Center’s resident performing arts organizations and also will be a destination for food service, restrooms, and free Wi-Fi access.

The design reflects a respect for the materials used throughout Lincoln Center and will achieve an open, accessible, and inviting environment that is an essential goal of redevelopment for the 16-acre campus. Once completed, Lincoln Center’s new Visitors Space will also be the first LEED certified, “green” building on the Lincoln Center campus.
