Public Enemy Heads to SummerStage Tomorrow
Central Park is going hip hop when SummerStage welcomes some rap legends to the stage tomorrow. Come to the free show at Rumsey Playfield (mid-park near 69th) starting at 3:00 pm to see Public Enemy, Blitz the Ambassador, and DJ Kool Herc. Public Enemy, one of the most influential and controversial hip hop acts of all time, became notorious with their ability to shine a light on the social injustices among the black community in America and their advice to start a revolution. Come see Chuck D, Flavor Flav, and company celebrate the 20th anniversary of their classic, influential album Fear of a Black Planet. Also performing is Blitz the Ambassador, the Ghanaian hip hop artist who pushes his sounds to the cross-cultural limits, and DJ Kool Herc, considered by many to be the first hip hop DJ. Get there early to guarantee admission to this free show.
