Races this Weekend: Run for Central Park, NYC Triathlon
It’s time for a couple of great races taking place on the Upper West Side! First, come out to Central Park for Saturday’s race benefiting a worthy local cause, the Central Park Conservancy. The Conservancy’s Run for Central Park is a 4-mile run/walk for all ages and fitness levels with eco-friendly awards, flowers planted in the park for each winner, and proceeds benefiting the Central Park Conservancy, which maintains and improves the park.
Next, athletes head over to Riverside Park bright and early for a big race… the 10th Annual Nautica New York City Triathlon! The race, consisting of a 1500m swim in the Hudson River, a 40K bike ride along the Hudson up to the Bronx and back, and a 10K run starting in Riverside Park and ending in Central Park. Check out the full course description here, the schedule of events here, or general race information here. If you are a supporter, find your favorite spot from which to cheer athletes, hang out in Central Park to see the Iams Doggy Dash, a 5-mile race with man’s best friend, or even hit the park tonight to cheer on the scantily-clad in the Jamaica Underwear Run. If you are a competitor, get some rest this weekend, and good luck!
