If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, the annual Central Park Ice Festival will take place on Saturday afternoon.
The crowd-pleasing event is free and has proven to be popular with both kids and adults alike.
Celebrate winter and revel in the Park’s beauty at the 2014 Central Park Ice Festival! Watch artists from Okamoto Studio live as they carve ice sculptures of some of the Park’s best known architectural gems of Bethesda Terrace, including the Angel of Bethesda and the four seasons. Warm up with a beverage from the Van Leeuwen truck and take a picture with Freeze Frame to remember the day by (both available for purchase) and ask one of the official Central Park Conservancy Discovery Guides about the amazing design of the Terrace, “heart of the Park” and more! FREE and open to the public.
The action takes place at Bethesda Terrace (mid-park, around 72nd Street) from 12:00 – 3:00 pm on Saturday, 1/18.
