Senor Swanky’s Spot to be Revived as a New Bar
Eater reports that the Upper West Side space that used to house the Mexican college party bar Señor Swanky’s (Columbus between 84th and 85th) may be getting new life. Signs on the space indicate that a new establishment called Bar Cotto has applied for a liquor license through Community Board 7 to operate on the premises. The community should find out at the CB7 meeting tomorrow whether the bar’s opening will proceed. If so, they will have to buy all new stuff… management for Señor Swanky’s previously auctioned off the restaurant’s contents on site in April.
Did you see an opening or closing in the neighborhood recently? Tell us… send as much information as possible to “alerts [at] myupperwest.com,” and we might post it!
