While Central Park’s SummerStage, the great series of (mostly) free concerts and events that take place at Rumsey Playfield (mid-park, near Bethesda Terrace at 71st), has been on hiatus for the winter months, the venue is already booking some gigs, signaling that summer sun will be here before we know it.  The first event currently scheduled at Rumsey Playfield, the National Football League’s Play 60, is a football camp taking place on April 20th and 21st.  After that, Self magazine’s “Workout in the Park” brings women together for workouts and beauty treatments on May 8th, and the annual Israeli Day Concert follows the Israeli Day Parade on May 23rd.  While the official SummerStage shows have not yet been announced, keep your eyes peeled for the debut of the lineup and other Rumsey Playfield events.
