Looks like all the hoopla about “Occupy Wall Street” possibly taking over Lincoln Center last night was for naught.

Despite statements on occupywallst.org about standing in solidarity with the previously scheduled Granny Peace Brigade protest last night, it appears OWS’ presence was near zilch.

@ReporterLeslie was on-site and filed this story with the details, writing that the four dozen demonstrators were mostly members of the Granny Peace Brigade. Per DNA:

Granny Peace Brigade member Jenny Heinz told DNAinfo before the protest that while the two groups respected and supported each other — three Grannys were reportedly arrested at Zuccotti Park recently — the Grannys had also made it clear they wanted a quiet demonstration, with no posters advocating other causes.

“We’re not really wanting mish mosh of all different messages,” said Heinz, a 67-year-old Upper West Sider. “We really want it to be focused on the issue that the Granny Peace Brigade has been focused on.”

The pairing of OWS and Granny Peace Brigade made for strange bedfellows from the start. GPB has a targeted anti-war focus, while OWS is about… well… I’m still  not 100% positive what OWS is about, but I’m pretty sure it’s not anti-war related.
