A 33-year-old man fatally stabbed his father last night in his apartment on 87th Street before attempting to commit suicide, according to WPIX.  Julian Kurita reportedly stabbed his father, Fumitaka Kurita, 70, in the neck yesterday evening in the 31st-floor apartment they shared at 175 West 87th (at Amsterdam).  He immediately slashed his wrists in an apparent suicide attempt.  Police arrived to the scene around 7:15 pm, where the younger Kurita was taken into custody and transported to St. Luke’s Hospital.  He is currently charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.  The investigation into the occurrence and Kurita’s motives is ongoing.
