Sunday, September 13th, 2009

a-sea-changeThe American Museum of Natural History (Central Park West at 79th) is hosting a special screening today of documentary A Sea Change: Imagine a World Without Fish.  The film follows Sven Huseby to several sites from Norway to Alaska to the Pacific Northwest as he searches for an understanding from scientists about “ocean acidification—how the use of fossil fuels is changing the chemistry of our oceans—and the impact it will have on his young grandson Elias.”  The screening will be followed by a discussion with Huseby, filmmaker Barbara Ettinger, AMNH’s Department of Ichthyology member Melanie L.J. Stiassny, and others.  The event will be moderated by actor Sam Waterston (Jack McCoy from NBC’s Law and Order).  Admission to the event is included in museum admission.
