Each Saturday in August, Symphony Space (Broadway at 95th) is screening a classic summer blockbuster.  If you feel like escaping the heat and enjoying a great flick for cheap, this series is for you.  Tickets are only $5 to see one of the movies you grew up loving.  This Saturday, Symphony Space will screen The Karate Kid, the 1984 original story about a boy who finds passion while conquering his trouble with bullies after learning martial arts from a master.  On August 21st, the unparalleled classic fairy tale, The Princess Bride, will be screened, and on August 28th, enjoy old-school Johnny Depp with Edward Scissorhands.
