summerstage2Central Park SummerStage events are in full swing, with five (yes, count ‘em, five) great events at Rumsey Playfield this weekend.  Come to the park’s concert venue (mid-park, near 69th) to enjoy your favorite free show.  First, ABC’s Good Morning America presents the next artist in their Summer Concert Series.  Come to the park tomorrow morning for Diddy and Dirty Money, the newest group fronted by the superstar.  Entry is first-come, first-served, and it is recommended you arrive at the 6:00 am park opening to guarantee entry.  Later in the day, enjoy Akim Funk Buddha’s Flying Boom Box and Organic Magnetics & AfroFunk Hip Hop Dance Class.  Come right at 7:00 pm to enjoy the dance class, then stay to soak in the original performance art.  On Saturday afternoon, SummerStage presents the legendary Living Colour featuring Ebony Bones!, Pillow Theory and CX KiDTRONiK.  Get there early for a great afternoon of music, or come later for an evening of dance. Peniel Guerrier Dance and Julio Jean Haitian American Dance Theater present a Tribute to Haiti, where you can learn traditional Haitian dance from the masters, or just watch them in action.  Finally, SummerStage celebrates Cuba on Sunday afternoon, when Pupy y Los Que Son Son and Jose Conde present A Tribute to Fania Records.  From the Latin grooves on Sunday to the mainstream hip hop on Friday, there is something for everyone this weekend.  Enjoy!
