Fall is well underway, which means it’s time for some delicious seasonal dishes that bid adieu to old summer standbys like watermelon, ice cream, and zucchini. Mel’s Burger Bar (Broadway at 110th) is celebrating National Pumpkin Day (October 26th), as well as Halloween, with a limited-time Jack O’Lantern Spiked Milkshake. The treat starts with homemade pumpkin ice cream from Max & Mina’s in Flushing, New York, made from hand-selected local pumpkins, cinnamon, and a custom spices. Add some Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, milk, and a pinch of spices, and the milkshake is sure to put a smile on your face. It’s only available for a few more days, so head to Mel’s Burger Bar and try it out.
Also for a limited time is a homemade pumpkin soup at La Boite en Bois (68th between Columbus and Central Park West). Try the delicious dish throughout this season, or pick it up to round out your Thanksgiving dinner, as it will also available for takeout.
