TreeCycle: Drop Off Your Christmas Tree At One Of Six UWS Locations & Help The Environment

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

treecycle

Judging by what I can see on the sidewalks, many people have already disposed of their Christmas trees. That said, I know more than a few of you still have yours.

If you’re looking for an environmentally sound way to get rid of you tree, take note of the TreeCycle program from The Riverside Park Fund.

Per RSP’s website:

This year, be one of thousands of New York households to help the environment and the community by recycling your holiday trees. Bring your tree to one of the designated drop-off sites in Riverside Park to be recycled into mulch that will nourish plantings across the city or your own garden!

It’s easier than ever! Just remember to remove all lights and decorations before bringing the tree to one of the drop off sites listed below. Patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the free mulch that will be available. Free mulch collection bags are provided for your convenience.

Trees will be chipped this weekend at 83rd & Riverside. You can drop off your tree at any of the following locations until Sunday morning:

  • West 79th Street & Riverside Drive
  • West 97th Street & Riverside Drive
  • West 106th Street & Riverside Drive
  • West 116th Street & Riverside Drive
  • West 138th Street & Riverside Drive
  • West 138th Street & Riverside Drive
