Tuesday: Green Screens Presents Plastic Planet

plasticplanetCome to the Walter Reade Theater (65th between Broadway and Amsterdam, upper level) on Tuesday for a special movie event.  The Film Society of Lincoln Center is hosting a Plastic Planet event that examines the far-reaching effect of plastics on the environment.  The evening starts with a PSA, Real New Yorkers Recycle, created by The Office of Recycling Outreach and Education.  Next, Green Screens presents a screening of Plastic Planet, a film that takes a playful approach to the subject, asking whether we can curb our love for plastic.  The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Elisabeth Royte, author of Garbage Land and Bottlemania: How Water Went on Sale and Why We Bought It and Michael Rieser, Staten Island Recycling Outreach Coordinator, Office of Recycling Outreach and Education Council on the Environment of New York City. The evening will conclude with a reception in the adjacent in the adjacent Furman Gallery.
