Upcoming Upper West Side Book Signings
There are several author appearances on the Upper West Side in the coming days, giving fans a chance to meet the creators of some great reads. Here’s a few book signings in the neighborhood that are worth checking out. Music fans can ome to the Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble (Broadway at 66th) Tuesday at 7:30 to meet Cherie Currie, author of Cherie Currie: Neon Angel. Currie rose to stardom as the lead singer in the all-girl band The Runaways, and this rise, along with her struggle with drug addiction that came after the fame, is chronicled in her book (the soon-to-be-released movie The Runaways stars Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart and is based on the book). Foodies might enjoy tomorrow’s signing at Borders Columbus Circle (in the Time Warner Center). Daisy Martinez, The Food Network’s hottest new star, will sign copies of Daisy: Morning, Noon, and Night, a book that brings readers into the heart of her kitchen as she prepares meals that are enjoyed all over Latin America. Another Borders event this week features former child actor Todd Bridges. Come to the store on Tuesday to hear Bridges discuss his book Killing Willis, in which he shares the shocking but ultimately triumphant story of his struggle to find his identity after Diff’rent Strokes. Finally, Twilight fans can have some New Moon fun on Friday with a New Moon DVD Midnight Release Party. Meet Laura from TwilightLexicon.com and Kara from TwilightMoms.com as you pick up Borders’ exclusive version of the New Moon DVD at midnight. The event features New Moon Movie Awards and other great Twilight happenings.
