Just a quick update on last night’s Upper West Side shooting on W. 94th as a few basic details have emerged:
DNAinfo and PIX 11 have brief write-ups, including a brief video report from Pix 11.
The incident took place at approximately 11:20 pm last night in front of 120 West 94th (between Amsterdam & Columbus). The building is part of the New York City public housing.
Two men were shot — both DNA and Pix report one victim took a bullet in the abdomen/stomach area, but they differ in their report on the second victim. DNA says he was struck in the leg while PIX 11 says he was shot in the arm.
Both men were taken to St. Luke’s-Roosevelt hospital in stable condition.
As of now, police have no motive for the shooting and the gunman is still on the loose.
Last night’s shooting is the latest in a string of gunfire that has turned the Upper West Side into the “Wile West” Side. Three teens were shot in front of 175 W. 90th on 11/18 and a bizarre shooting incident involving an off-duty police officer took place on 10/27 at Riverside Drive & 91st.
Anyone with information about Sunday’s shooting should contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, texting TIP577 to CRIMES, or by going to NYPDCrimStoppers.com — all tips are confidential.
