The Transportation Committee, a part of Upper West Side advisory group Community Board 7, held a public meeting on Wednesday night, discussing various transportation issues. The most discussed issue at hand was whether to create protected bike lanes on Amsterdam and Columbus between 59th and 110th. After a series of testimony from UWS residents, businesses, and community board members from Hell’s Kitchen and Midtown, the committee voted 6-2 in favor of adding the bike lanes, according to the blog Very Simple. You can watch the vote here. Looks like we might be seeing some bike lanes on our avenues soon!
