It’s My Upper West Pet Week!  Each day this week, we will spotlight an awesome Upper West Side pet, giving them a little local fame.  Today’s pet is Zorro, a cute-as-can-be Yorkshire Terrier.  Zorro was a rescue from the ASPCA in October 2007, now residing on the UWS in the West 70′s.  His owners only know that he was left in a box outside the ASPCA in early 2007 with maggots covering parts of his body, and that after he recovered, he was adopted by someone in New Jersey, who returned him a few months later because they claimed they were moving to a no-pet building.  Zorro is now a lucky Upper West Sider who the vets estimate is about 12 years old (his owners think and hope he is younger, since he’s still very active).  The pooch enjoys his days in the neighborhood, walking in Central Park (especially around Strawberry Fields) or snuggling up in the compartment under his owners’ Bugaboo stroller.
