Bacchus Wines (2056 Broadway, between 70th/71st) sent out an e-mail blast yesterday announcing they’ve lost their lease and are closing next week (I’ve heard Wednesday will be their final day). Until then, they’re having a blowout sale on all their wine, spirits, Riedel Crystal wine glasses/decanters, and accessories.

The MyUpperWest Gal stopped by on her way home from work yesterday and got some great deals on a few bottles of vino and six new Riedel glasses. She was quite pleased with her haul, but suggested that others who are interested in snagging a deal head over ASAP, before they run out of inventory.

I should also note that she’s ecstatic to finally replace the (apparently) crappy wine glasses that I brought into the relationship with new, classy, grown-up stemware. Of course, I’m still waiting for an excuse to get rid of the ridiculous and hideous fake plant/flower “thing” she brought with her when we moved in together, but I digress… (seriously — you can’t begin to imagine how awful it is).

“Bacchus is very sad to report that after years of dedicated service to our loyal Upper West Side customers (and beyond!) that we have lost our lease and are forced to close our doors next week… Thank you so much for your valued patronage over the years. Whether it was just to stop in for wine, or to attend our events and classes, we have so enjoyed getting to know you all. Thank you for always making us feel at home in this neighborhood and having us as your go-to wine place. We will definitely miss you.”
