Curbed has the details on two Upper West Side celebrity pads that just hit the market.

Famed NFL coach and broadcaster John Madden has listed his 2,000 sf, 2 BR/2.5 BA apartment at The Dakota for $4.9 million — BOOM! His agent reports that he’s been living on the West Coast full-time since retiring from broadcasting. Curbed points out the apartment gets “bonus cool points for being a maisonette, with a private entrance off the building’s courtyard.” Madden bought the apartment from Gilda Radner for $625K in 1985.

Editor and morning TV show regular Suze Yalof Schwartz has also put her UWS home on the market. Of course, I’m not nearly as familiar with her given that she didn’t have an awesome Sega Genesis video game named after her during my adolescent years. According to Curbed, she “shocked the fashionista world when she announced last year that she was leaving her gig at Glamour and moving to California.” Now her 4 BR/3 BA apartment at 316 W. 79th is listed for $3.95 million. That’s a tidy 52% increase over the $2.6 million she paid for it in 2008. That said, Schwartz gut-renovated the space (it has two dedicated shoe closets) and it definitely looks nicer now. Curbed has before and after shots.
