Upper West Side Celebrity Sightings

yoko-ono2

While our grainy, distant photo (above) does not do the sighting justice, the person sitting on the bench in a black and white jacket under the boom mic is none other than Yoko Ono.  We at My Upper West spotted her right near Strawberry Fields in Central Park (near 72nd), the spot dedicated to her late husband, John Lennon.  Ono was being filmed for an unknown production on Sunday.

Other famous names were out and about in Central Park recently.  Twitterer @tylermiller5 saw actor Ray Liotta in the park yesterday, @TheDateCoach went for a run and encountered actor Chris Noth (aka Mr. Big) running right next to her on Sunday, and @susy_homemaker caught a glimpse of Woody Allen in the park yesterday.  Speaking of Twitter, actor Russell Crowe was in the park yesterday and took the time to Tweet about the beauty of the trees and birds after the rain.  Good to hear he is happy and peaceful, not in the middle of a bar fight somewhere.

Did you spot a celebrity in the neighborhood recently?  Tell us… send as much information as possible to “alerts [at] myupperwest.com,” and we might post it!
